Tap a symbol to copy it. A yellow dot means it can look different in some apps (for example it may turn into an emoji). A red dot means at least one system we measured has no glyph for it and may show a box. No dot means it passed our Android and Windows checks.

Find a symbol fast
Use the search box to find a symbol by its official Unicode name or by a word such as heart, moon or arrow. Switch on Only safest symbols to hide anything marked with a dot. Or scroll through the groups below. Each group shows its safest symbols first, then links to its own page when there is one.
Tap a symbol to copy it. Nothing needs to be installed, and symbols are plain text that pastes into bios, names and captions.
What the dots mean
We checked every symbol against the system fonts of Android 8, 10, 12 and the latest Android source, and of Windows 10. A symbol with no dot was found in all of them. A yellow dot means it exists but can look different, for example it may turn into a colour emoji in some apps. A red dot means at least one system has no glyph for it and may show a box. Chrome on Windows 10 agreed with that test for the characters we compared. iPhones were not tested.
For the invisible kind of character, open the invisible character page instead.
Questions
How do I copy a symbol?
Tap it. It is copied to your clipboard, and you can paste it anywhere that takes text.
Why do some symbols have a dot?
A dot warns that the symbol can look different or may show a box on some systems.
Are these emoji?
Most are text symbols. The groups also include a few real emoji, which are marked as emoji on their pages and always show in colour.
Can I use symbols in a username?
Usually not. Usernames accept letters, numbers and a few characters only.
