Use these in bios and display names. Usernames and @handles on Instagram, TikTok, Discord and X only take plain letters, numbers and a few symbols. Safe, mostly safe and may show boxes come from our font tests.
Light adds 1 mark above each letter. Medium adds 1 above and 1 below. Heavy adds 3 above and 2 below. Each mark counts as a character, so the counter on each row shows the true length.

How the slider works
Glitch text, also called zalgo, stacks combining marks above and below each letter. The slider sets how many. Light adds one mark above each letter. Medium adds one above and one below. Heavy adds three above and two below. The result is always the same for the same text, so you can come back to it.
Spaces and line breaks are left clean, so your words stay separate.
The cost in characters
Every mark is a real character. A three-letter word at medium becomes nine characters, and at heavy it is far longer. Each row shows how many characters you typed and how many are counted, so you can see when a bio is about to go over its limit.
Marks are also the most fragile part of Unicode text. No platform we checked documents stripping or capping stacked marks, and tall stacks get clipped by app layouts. Dyslexic readers find stacked marks hard, and a screen reader may read every mark aloud. Use glitch for a short name, not for information.

Text with many combining marks piled above and below the letters, so it looks broken or haunted.
Why is my glitch name too long?
Each mark counts as a character. Lower the slider, or shorten the name.
Will it work in a bio?
The marks exist in the fonts we measured, so the style is labelled Mostly safe, but each app stacks marks differently and tall stacks can be clipped.
Is the same text always the same glitch?
Yes. The marks are chosen by a fixed rule, not at random, so repeating the text gives the same result.
