Tap a symbol to copy it. A yellow dot means it can look different in some apps (for example it may turn into an emoji). A red dot means at least one system we measured has no glyph for it and may show a box. No dot means it passed our Android and Windows checks.
Text bows
Single characters that read as a bow, loop or ribbon.
Bow combos
Ribbon pieces built from several characters.
Bow emoji
Real emoji. They show in colour and the picture changes from phone to phone.
There is no bow letter
Unicode has no plain text bow, so people use characters that happen to look like loops and ribbons. The text bows here, such as the pair of loops and the small closed curves, are letters and marks from other alphabets chosen for their shape. Their Unicode names do not say bow, so we show the real name under each one and keep the tags in our library.
The combos join loops and small marks into longer ribbon pieces that fit across a name.
The emoji bow
The real bow is an emoji. It shows in colour, its picture changes between phone brands, and it can be drawn at a different size from the letters next to it. The ribbon combos that contain it are marked May show boxes on the home page for that reason. In this page the emoji are kept in their own group so you can choose them on purpose. Text bows without a dot passed our checks on Android and Windows.
Questions
Is there a bow symbol in Unicode text?
Not as a plain text bow. Text bows are look-alike characters, while the real bow is an emoji.
Why is the bow emoji marked?
It is drawn by each phone's emoji font, so the look is not under our control.
Which bows are the safest?
The text bows with no dot were found in every system font we measured.
How do I use a bow in a name?
Paste it before or after your name, or use a bow combo as a frame.
